Five years ago, I lost my baby brother to mental illness. It was a time filled with pain, grief, and uncertainty. For a long while, I felt trapped in darkness, wondering if joy was even possible again.

Little by little, I began to shift my thoughts. I replaced guilt, sadness, and hopelessness with gratitude, love, and faith. Every morning, I chose new thoughts. I read affirmations, wrote positive words, and surrounded myself with uplifting people and reminders that life could still be beautiful.

Those small, daily choices changed me. They helped me heal.
